Junyun Tay is a robotics software engineer who aims to apply artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to real world problems where robots reason and plan. Junyun worked for over 2 years at Bossa Nova Robotics, where she led a team and developed a health monitoring and alerting system for the robots. Junyun also developed metrics to track the robots’ performance over long periods of time. Junyun holds a dual Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and Nanyang Technological University, and a Bachelor of Computing in Information Systems from the National University of Singapore. Junyun’s Ph.D. thesis is on the autonomous animation of humanoid robots to express meanings extracted from an input.
