Denise is a Principal Robotics Engineer at Exyn Technologies, a robotics start-up based in Philadelphia, PA, creating software to enable pilot-less aerial robotic flight in complex, GPS-denied environments such as warehouses and underground mines. Prior to joining Exyn, Denise was a graduate student at the University of Pennsylvania in the General Robotics, Automation, Sensing and Perception (GRASP) Laboratory, where she developed algorithms for the manipulation of multiple magnetic microrobots using visual servoing and interfacing microrobotic tools with basic science. She never imagined she’d ever step foot in an underground mine and now she’s been to underground mines all around the world to fly robots that collect data in areas that are too dangerous for humans to go into!
