Drupal is becoming a content management system of choice for governments, academia, membership associations, and non-profit organizations because of its security, stability, and ease of integrating community-contributed modules. We will walk through an initial setup on a Pantheon hosting sandbox, which will allow users to set up content types including an Article/Blog, Page, Events, and Products for an E-commerce store, as well as understand basics like user accounts (including login), roles and permissions, developing a report or “view” of information, and installing a pre-built theme. The goal is for participants to have the basics of setting up a site within a 40-minute session with time for Q&A on specific issues.
